One monthly invoice covering salary, tax, social security and benefits
Who this is for
Companies that need to hire foreign employees in Thailand legally, on a clear timeline, without setting up an immigration and payroll function of their own to do it.
- Companies with a Thai entity that want to add a foreign specialist or manager without running the visa and work permit process themselves, or whose registered capital and Thai headcount do not yet support an additional work permit
- Foreign companies with no entity in Thailand that need a foreign employee based here. Employment, visa and work permit are arranged together. For Thai staff with no local entity, see our Employer of Record service
- Companies transferring an existing employee from an office in another country to Thailand for a project or an assignment
- Companies that already have the candidate, or need us to find one. Our recruitment team can search first and arrange the employment in the same agreement
- Positions at specialist, manager and executive level in engineering, IT, finance, sales, hospitality and other fields where the role needs skills or languages that are hard to find locally
What Workwise takes care of
Hiring foreign employees in Thailand means securing the right visa category and a work permit before the start date, then keeping documents renewed and reported throughout their stay. All of this sits with us. You deal with a dedicated contact at Workwise and receive a report every month.
- Non-Immigrant B visa The pre-approval letter from the Department of Employment, guidance for the employee at the Thai embassy or consulate before travel, and the extension of stay once the employee is working in Thailand
- Work permit Applied for and issued before the start date, renewed every year, and updated when the job title, duties or place of work change
- 90-day reporting Filed on time every cycle, and a re-entry permit arranged before the employee travels outside Thailand so the extension of stay remains valid, along with the other documents required during their time here
- Tax, social security and benefits Tax ID and social security registration, monthly salary paid with withholding tax and contributions filed, and benefits on the same basis as Thai staff or as you specify
- Cancellation at the end of the assignment Work permit and visa cancelled and the final payroll settled correctly, so the employee can leave Thailand or move to a new employer with nothing outstanding
Eligibility for a work permit depends on the position, the employee's background and the employment structure. The consultant assesses your case before proposing terms, so you know from the start whether the role qualifies and when the employee can begin.
How it works
From the first conversation to the start date usually takes several weeks, depending on embassy and government processing times at the time of application. The consultant gives you a timeline when proposing terms.
Tell us about the role and the employee
Position, nationality, where the employee is now, the planned start date and the compensation
Assessment and proposal
We confirm that the role qualifies for a work permit, send you the employment structure with a quotation, and prepare the service agreement
Documents and visa
We collect the employee's documents and arrange the pre-approval letter from the Department of Employment. The employee then applies for the Non-B visa at the embassy or consulate with our guidance, before travelling to Thailand
Work permit and start
The work permit is issued after arrival, the employee is registered for tax and social security, and work begins on the agreed date
Ongoing care until the assignment ends
Monthly payroll, 90-day reporting, re-entry permits, renewals and change notifications, through to the day the assignment ends and we close everything out correctly
What you get
A foreign employee who starts on the agreed date with the right documents
Visa and work permit in place before day one, with no gap between arrival and the legal start of work
A clear answer on eligibility and timeline before you commit
Given at the proposal stage, before any agreement is signed
One monthly invoice and one monthly report
Salary, tax, social security and benefits in a single line for your accounting, with renewal and reporting dates tracked for you
A clean exit when the assignment ends
Permits cancelled and payroll settled, which keeps the employee's record and your company's standing with the authorities in order
Service terms
- Service fees depend on the number of employees, their nationality and the scope agreed, and are quoted in a proposal after the first conversation
- Start dates depend on visa and work permit approval in each case. The consultant gives you a timeline when proposing terms
- You direct the employee's day-to-day work. Workwise takes care of the employment paperwork, immigration filings and payroll
Getting started
Send us the position, the employee's nationality and current location, and the date you would like them to start, by form or email.
